Microsoft on Wednesday launched a public beta of Office Mobile 2010, coinciding with its launch of the Office 2010 beta.

Microsoft says the app will allow users to view and edit their Office documents, use their phones as a PowerPoint presentation aid, and connect with their SharePoint Workspace Mobile accounts.

The app is available for download in the Windows Marketplace for Mobile for Windows Mobile 6.5 phones. Anyone with a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone can download and test the app until April 5 of next year. Continue Reading »

As smartphones gained popularity outside of the business world, a division formed between devices made for consumers (lifestyle smartphones) and those made for enterprise deployments (professional smartphones). Professional devices tend to be more integrable into bigger systems and offer more in the productivity department while lifestyle devices cater more to the individual’s tastes and offer more in terms of entertainment.

Though Microsoft has plenty of consumer smartphones running Windows Mobile, the operating system has found itself on the far end of “Professional,” struggling to appeal to consumers enamored with touch-based operating systems. windows mobile 6.5系统已经出来好久了，但是由于移动厂商生成周期和设计的周期的时间问题，一直没有搭配windows mobile 6.5的智能手机上市，今天看到终于有了，不过是山寨的，呵呵，模仿HTC Touch的“TouchViva”。

　　既然是山寨版，外观上自然是拿来主义了，硬件方面也不弱，比如2.8寸240×320分辨率屏幕，320万像素摄像头，支持GMS850/900/1800/1900MHz频段和Wi-Fi、EDGE，大容量电池待机时间十天，售价1099元人民币。

第一款windows mobile6.5手机上线

之前 手机 Mobile  就一直跟踪手机软件市场的情况，比如iphone的app store，黑莓的app world，不过作为目前市场占有率最高的windows mobile系统，微软推出的Marketplace不可小视！

Windows Marketplace手机版终于向开发者打开了大门，Windows Mobile程序设计者需要一个Windows Live的ID、一个合法纳税人的身份证以及一个99美元的银行账户就可以获得一个微软的软件售卖账户。一旦获得这个账户，软件开发者就可以提交自己为Windows Mobile 6.5所设计的软件，并接受微软公司的审核，审核之后用户即可购买。与苹果的App Store相同的是，用户也可以在Marketplace中对程序进行评价。当之后Windows Mobile 6.5系统的手机面市之后，Marketplace将会更加热闹。

微软在MWC 2009上发布了My Phone服务

    近日，笔者根据微软公司提供的测试激活码，在华硕P565上体验了My Phone功能。简而言之，“My phone服务”就是可以让用户把自己Windows Mobile智能手机上的联系人、日历、任务、短信、照片、视频、音乐、文档甚至是存储卡上特定内容，与微软的远程服务器同步以备份，每个用户（也就是每个Windows Live ID）在服务器上有200MB的空间可用。

    首先，利用测试激活码激活笔者的Windows Live ID并在华硕P565上下载My Phone测试版客户端之后，就可以在手机上使用My Phone功能了。在“关于”信息里我们可以看到目前的My Phone版本是01.00.1516.0001，其中文名是“我的空间”，而不是“我的手机”，英文“My Phone”可能也是考虑到避免与“My space”冲突吧。 Continue Reading »
