相信大家很多人都对google phone的nexus one非常喜欢，可是HTC作为一个手机厂家，应该会有更多Android手机生产出来，非常值得期待。这次HTC发布了新的nexus one的兄弟版手机Desire。

在Nexus One推出之后，许多用户都希望宏达电或谷歌能发布与宏达电其他Android手机类似的可订制用户界面。然而由于Nexus One采用谷歌的品牌，因此该手机按照谷歌的意愿使用纯粹的Android系统。

　　Desire在这方面与Nexus One不同。尽管外观与Nexus One非常相像，但Desire是采用宏达电品牌的一款手机，因此使用了宏达电的Sense界面。该手机拥有其他Sense界面手机的所有功能，包括在整个操作系统内的多点触控，以及浏览器中的Flash。

　　与Nexus One一样，Desire采用2.1版Android系统以及1GHz的CPU。此外，该手机采用3.7英寸AMOLED触摸屏及500万像素摄像头。Desire与Nexus One的唯一不同在于，前者采用光学轨迹板，而后者采用标准轨迹球。

Apple’s tablet will use Verizon’s wireless data network to connect to the Internet when users are out of range of a Wi-Fi hotspot, a Wall Street analyst today said his sources were reporting.

“The tablet will be supported by multiple [mobile] carriers,” said Brian Marshall of Broadpoint AmTech, citing unnamed sources he said were close to the situation. “Verizon and others,” he continued. “Definitely Verizon. I’ve been told that’s a certainty.”

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal (subscription required) added its voice to the clamor about an impending Apple tablet, saying that the device would be unveiled later this month but wouldn’t ship until March. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has been working on two different material finishes for the tablet, which will sport a 10- or 11-in. screen.

Most are betting that Apple will introduce the tablet the last week of this month. The U.K.-based Financial Times has pegged the date as Jan. 26, while more recently the Daily Digital blog pegged the next day, Wednesday, Jan. 27, for the roll-out.

What the tablet will include and what it will do is a mystery — no surprise considering that Apple is one of the most secretive companies in the U.S. But that hasn’t stopped the rumor mills from cranking into high gear, nor analysts from speculating.

Richard Doherty, director of technology at the consulting firm Envisioneering Group, told the Wall Street Journal that he doesn’t expect the tablet to connect a 3G network, in large part because of the high-profile problems AT&T, Apple’s exclusive U.S. carrier for the iPhone, has had keeping up with data demand. “We don’t think the networks are up to it,” Doherty told the newspaper.

Marshall disagreed. “The tablet will connect to 3G,” he said, “not just wireless [hotspots].”

How the tablet connects to the Internet will be crucial to its success, Marshall and other analysts have argued, since media content, including books, TV shows and movies, will be one of Apple’s biggest advantages over rivals who have, or will, introduce tablets or e-book readers of their own.

“It will be an e-reader, that’s certain,” said Marshall, admitting that he underestimated the e-book reader when Amazon introduced its original Kindle. Now, he’s a convert. “Amazon sold two million Kindles in the second half of last year,” he said. “Clearly, the market is much larger than what I expected. So Apple’s tablet will be an e-reader, but also a TV viewer and more. For Apple, content is the focus of the tablet.”

Ezra Gottheil, an analyst with Technology Business Research, seconded Marshall’s take that content is Apple’s ace in the hole. Like Marshall, Gottheil accepted the Wall Street Journal story at face value — “It makes sense,” he said today. Then he used its timeline to make some projections of his own.

“If the time window is as short as [the Wall Street Journal] says, then Apple has to have something to deliver already in the chute,” Gottheil said. “It’s likely that a few key developers are prepared to have something ready by March, but only a few. Apple wouldn’t talk to more than that for fear of details leaking.”

Already signed and sealed, Gottheil said, were deals with book, magazine and newspaper publishers; movie studios; and television networks. “Apple will have had to make a lot of deals with content providers by now if it is launching in March,” he said.

A Verizon spokeswoman declined to respond to Marshall’s claim, citing company policy against commenting “on rumors or speculation. And we won’t do that here.”

The day before CES got underway, Google cleverly swiped the spotlight by unveiling the Nexus One, the first phone the company is selling itself. After years of scuttlebutt that a “Googlephone” might be on the way, there’s finally a model that deserves that moniker.

Based on Google’s own Android mobile operating system and built by Taiwanese phone giant HTC, the Nexus One isn’t the tradition-busting breakthrough that some tech watchers expected. (There were those who wondered if the company might give it away and turn a profit via on-screen ads.) 

Nor is it the mythical iPhone killer that pundits love to fantasize about. But like most of the Android phones that have debuted since the T-Mobile G1 in November 2008, the Nexus One is a clear evolutionary improvement on its predecessors. It displaces Verizon Wireless’s Droid as the top Android model to date, and is one of the most impressive smartphones on the market, period.

For starters, it’s a smidge narrower than the iPhone 3GS, so it feels comfy in the hand — even though its screen is bigger, far higher in resolution, and, thanks to new AMOLED screen technology, brighter. It’s got one of the fastest processors ever put in a phone and double the memory of the Droid and iPhone 3GS, which gives it a zippy feel and permits slick touches such as icons that pop into place via subtle 3D animation as you switch between screens. And its camera, with five megapixels of resolution, an autofocus lens, an LED flash, and HD video capability, is a step up from most phone cameras, including the one on the iPhone 3GS. 

The Nexus One is the first phone with Android 2.1, the newest version of Google’s phone software. Google enthusiasts will feel right at home — it boasts fine phone-sized editions of Gmail, Google Calendar, and the Google Voice virtual phone-number service. Like the Droid, it also has a version of Google Maps that offers spoken turn-by-turn driving directions. (The iPhone’s Maps app lacks this ability, forcing you to pony up for a third-party program.)

The phone’s Gallery photo application is also a highlight, with a a lovely, polished look. It automatically syncs albums in both directions with Google’s Picasa Web Albums photo-sharing service: Pictures you snapped with the N1’s camera are available online, and any digital-camera photos you’ve uploaded to Picasa are available on the N1.

Like the iPhone but unlike the Droid, the Nexus One lacks a physical keyboard. You tap in text using on-screen keys that are available whether you’re holding the phone in vertically orientation or horizontally. Once you get the knack, it works surprisingly well. (So does the built-in voice recognition, which lets you dictate e-mails, text messages, and other snippets of information.) A tiny trackball is available for navigating around, but I found it pretty superfluous: I was happy using the touchscreen, even though it lacks the two-fingered multitouch gestures that help make the iPhone so engaging.

Multitouch is a relatively minor omission. In other respects, though, the Android interface falls short of the iPhone’s sheer efficiency. Tasks that take one tap on the iPhone frequently take two on the N1, and it’s not always clear where you’ll find the feature you’re looking for. Third-party applications tend to lack the intuitive, consistent design that makes the best iPhone ones feel like natural extensions of Apple’s work.

Speaking of applications, Apple’s App Store now boasts more than a hundred thousand iPhone programs; most are inexpensive or free, and the best ones are remarkably good. The similar Android Marketplace only has around 20,000 programs so far, and there are fewer standouts. But both the quantity and quality of offerings is improving rapidly.

The fact that Google is selling the Nexus One itself via a slick Web site turns out not to be a big whoop one way or the other. If you’re allergic to carrier contracts, you can pay $529 and get a commitment-free version. But the phone works only at 3G speed on one U.S. carrier, T-Mobile. (On AT&T, it falls back to a much pokier EDGE connection, and it’s not compatible with Verizon Wireless or Sprint at all.) It only makes sense to buy this handset if you’re on T-Mobile or willing to switch, which means that there’s a good chance you’ll opt to sign a two-year contract with that carrier at $79.99 a month, thereby qualifying to buy N1 for the subsidized price of $179.

Not thrilled about the T-Mobile option? Google says a Verizon Wireless version of the phone will be available this Spring. Verizon offers the Droid and Droid Eris, and Sprint has two Android phones, the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment. AT&T doesn’t sell any Android handsets yet, but it’s about to jump on the bandwagon in a big way — at CES it announced that it will release five in the first half of 2010 alone. Additional Android models, with many of the Nexus One’s appealing features, should pop up on all four carriers throughout the year.

As for Google, it says that the Nexus One is only the first of many Android phones it’ll sell directly. The company may smash everybody’s assumptions about the wireless market yet. For now, the Nexus One is merely a really nice smartphone — which is enough to make its arrival good news.

值得高兴的是，这次Nexus One可以有usb驱动了，大家能方便的用usb给自己的google手机备份文件等等操作。

After hopeful developers were complaining about the delay of its release at CES last weekend, Android Developers have published the SDK component for Android 2.1, available now for download on their website.

Third-party developers have a shot to analyze it and build apps for it before this version is even released on most Android-powered devices. There aren’t many significant additions, however, some of which include animated wallpapers along with updates to WebKit, telephony and views. Apparently the OS also runs faster on the Droid now.

Notably, SDK 2.1 also supports a new USB manager for the Nexus One, which could either be used to backup your phone on your computer each time you connect, or use it as a USB drive and transfer files back and forth, or both.

黑莓易于使用的“qwerty”键盘一直是它在美国等市场取得成功的一个主要功能。但在使用汉字的中国，这种需求到底有多大还是个未知数。许多中国用户更喜欢有触摸屏、可以在上面写字，或是带有数字键盘、可通过文字联想软件加快输入速度的智能手机。中国市场占有率最大的手机厂家诺基亚公司(Nokia Co.)推出的基于qwerty键盘的E71手机取得了成功，但其它采用完整键盘的智能手机则没有引起注意，一些销售qwerty手机的制造商已选择不再在中国促销这类手机。

IDC预计，中国2013年的智能手机销量将从去年的1,100万部（占当年手机总销量的7.5%）增加到2013年的3,500万部。诺基亚去年在中国智能手机市场的占有率为70%。IDC分析师Aloysius Choong说，由于3G刚开始在这个市场兴起，而中国用户接触数据服务比较有限，我认为一些公司会认为它们有机会进入。

他说，在其它市场，RIM已成功让它们的手机进入到可影响市场其他人的舆论领袖的手中。但他说，中国还没有出现这种情况，因此黑莓在中国市场的成功将依靠抓住公众的想象力。

对中国移动而言，对黑莓的强劲需求将有助于推广它的TD-SCDMA技术。它是全球三大3G标准中唯一由中国开发的标准，政府将其交给了中国移动，希望确保它的商业成功。

不过，TD-SCDMA对于黑莓通常针对的那种高端客户可能没有多少吸引力，因为他们可能更经常地出差，而TD-SCDMA技术目前并未在中国之外的任何地方使用。计划中的中国移动的黑莓可能会在其它市场使用，至少是在旧的2G技术平台使用，但还不清楚是否会在其它类型的3G网络上使用。RIM的发言人不予置评。

RIM没有透露新的TD-SCDMA黑莓何时可以买到，不过巴西利说“工作进展得非常好”。RIM和中国移动都没有透露这款手机的价格是多少，但中国移动董事长王建宙说，将像对其它TD-SCDMA手机一样提供补贴。

Microsoft on Wednesday launched a public beta of Office Mobile 2010, coinciding with its launch of the Office 2010 beta.

Microsoft says the app will allow users to view and edit their Office documents, use their phones as a PowerPoint presentation aid, and connect with their SharePoint Workspace Mobile accounts.

The app is available for download in the Windows Marketplace for Mobile for Windows Mobile 6.5 phones. Anyone with a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone can download and test the app until April 5 of next year.

The app appears to be a step forward for Office Mobile because it interacts exclusively with touch screen Win Mobile 6.5 phones and offers functionalities like syncing with Microsoft OneNote. We will post a hands on with the software after we’ve had a chance to properly test it out.

摩托罗拉的Dorid手机刚刚上线，比较惹火，本来想早点写篇相关报道的，一直不知道写什么，今天看到别人写的一片Dorid初体验，觉得不错，转来大家看看：

今天早上去 Verizon 手机店入手 Droid.  没有见到传说中的队伍.  不过根据好几个店的店员讲, Droid 的销售很好.  我所知道的身边的朋友就有 3 个今天买了 Droid.

废话不说了, 先重点讲下几个体验:

Droid 速度非常快.  在这个当前运行 task 的清单上有 10 个 app 在运行.  运行速度丝毫不受影响.

查看 email, 开网页, 速度非常快.  Verizon 的 3G 网络也确实很快, 和旁边的 G1 一比, G1 是龟速~~~

界面超大, app 清单一目了然.  3.7 寸的屏幕可真不是盖的!

大部分 app 都可以在一个屏幕上完全显示.  这个在 G1 上做不到, 需要 scroll 才可以.

多了很多设置选项, 还有待研究, 不过我喜欢这个 list 风格 ^_^

车载导航系统主页面:

这个截图是家里弄的.  早上开车的时候亲身体验了下, 非常不错.  特别是实时的路况反馈, 会在地图的路线上用不同的颜色标明, 比如红色表示那段路况塞车严重.

Google用这种 crowd-sourcing 来增强地图导航系统的应用, 真是太强大了!

初步的几点感觉:

• 速度确实很快, G1 可以扔掉了, G2,Hero 都差不多
• 屏幕大, 使用很舒服
• 音量够大, 导航的时候语音提示很清晰
• Google 导航真不是盖的, 地图上的信息和细节处理已经超越目前其他专业导航系统了, 比如 TomTom, Garmin 等
• 你可以在 Google 导航里面看街景照片, 导航的路线也显示在上面
• 到达目的地后, Google 导航会自动切换到街景模式.  这种贴心的设置非常到位!
• 手感很好, 质感强, 很重, 很实在的感觉, 没有松动的地方, Moto 的工业设计表现得不错
• 键盘太扁, 最上面一行和推出去的屏幕间隔太小, 打字的时候很容易被阻挡到, 需要一段时间适应
• 貌似电池续航能力比 G1 要强很多
• 内置多个帐号支持, 可以设置多个 gmail, facebook 和 MS Exchange
• 开启 GPS, 3G 使用一段时间后没有明显发烫的感觉, 比起 Pre “炙手可热”到煎蛋的程度, Moto 的硬件材质选择真不错

总体来说是本年度最好的手机之一(其他的还有 iPhone 3Gs 和 Nokia N900).  GSM 版本据说几个星期内会发布, 童鞋们再等等!

谈不上是 iPhone Killer, 但绝对已经是黑莓, WinMo 和其他 Android 的 Killer 了.  大家如果希望想知道 Droid 的其他方面, 请在回复中写明.

其他一般的配置什么的, 已经有很多评论了, 所以这里就不再重复了 ^_^

目前该虫虫危机仅限于澳洲，其它国家、地区并没有发现类似的状况，而一般 iPhone 使用者则不必担心，这问题仅会影响 JB 过且安装有 SSH 的 iPhone。

目前，Pulse可谓是欧洲最炙手可热的明星手机之一。在欧洲各大电视台如ARD、ATL、ZDF等，主流媒介如《图片报》、《商报》、《法兰克福汇报》等，均能看到这款Android智能手机连篇累牍的报道。与此同时，Pulse更是当仁不让地霸占着各类专业杂志的封面，堪称风头正劲。

（比较的奇怪的是，我查看了很多相关新闻，没有几个新闻为pulse配图的，包括网易、搜狐、新浪这些媒体，不知道是什么原因，因此我学习腾讯的，用以前的华为手机图片配图了，我想应该错不到哪里去）

对于渴望，顽固的黑莓玩家，风暴2可以在Verizon无线和在线商店购买www.verizonwireless.com。它还将可以通过企业销售渠道，10月28日。暴风雨零售价179.99美元，100美元后，mail - in折扣，需要新的典型两年的语音和数据服务协议的计划。

AT&T’s iPhone and Verizon’s Blackberry Storm are ready to go head-to-head once again. In two days. The updated version of the first touchscreen Blackberry, the Blackberry Storm2, will be available Wednesday, Oct. 28.

For the eager, die-hard Blackberry fans, the Storm2 can be purchased at Verizon Wireless stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com. It will also be available through business sales channels on Oct. 28. The storm will retail at $179.99, after a $100 mail-in rebate, and requires the typical new two-year service agreement for a voice and data plan.

Now that the release date is so close, the big question remains: will the Storm2 accomplish what Verizon hoped the original Storm would do? When the Storm was unveiled in November of last year, the hope was to draw iPhone users from AT&T to Verizon with the reliable and trusted Research in Motion Blackberry name, but with touchscreen capabilities like the iPhone. The kinks in the SurePress technology (the tactile sense of actually pressing keys on the touchscreen) and lack of Wi-Fi were just a few of the reasons attributing to the phone’s lackluster performance.

The Storm2 is ready to tackle the iPhone once again with a improved SurePress technology, a 3.2 megapixel camera, background noise suppression technology, built-in GPS, battery with 5.5 hours of talk time, 3.25” high-resolution display, Wi-Fi, 256 MB of flash memory and 2 GB of onboard media storage, with a 16 GB memory card included. Will it live up to the task?
