Sullivan leads the team at Firefox maker Mozilla creating a mobile version of Firefox, dubbed Fennec, which would be available as both a pre-installed browser on cooperating phone makers’ models and as a free download for as many phones as possible. We’ve taken screenshot tours of the first alpha, and newer betas and alphas are available for download for touchscreen Windows Mobile phones, Nokia tablets, and for desktop testing.

Mozilla VP on What Firefox Mobile Means for Your Phone
Windows Mobile手机上网用什么浏览器，相信大部分人都知道用Internet Explorer Mobile或者近年较为热门的Opera Mini，可能也有少部分人用最新由Mozilla推出的Fennec。不过最近WM用户又多一个新的选择，那便是由iPhone Safari浏览器开发公司Torch Mobile推出的Iris手机上网浏览器。
Mozilla旗下开发代号为Fennec的手机浏览器发布了首个Windows Mobile版本。
Mozilla表示，此次发布的Fennec手机浏览器是pre－alpha版，主要供那些想尝鲜的用户一睹为快，目前只能在HTC宏达电的Touch Pro触摸屏智能手机上使用，暂不支持其它设备。
首个Windows Mobile版本
Mozilla推出Fennec项目是为了在移动设备市场分一杯羹，但Mozilla的Firefox浏览器一直都很占系统资源，限于此Mozilla一直未能进入手机浏览器领域。新的Firefox3浏览器不仅降低了内存使用解决了内存泄露问题，而且还改善了浏览器的t性能，为Mozilla进入移动领域打下了基础。 Continue Reading »
